Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CareerDuel ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

Service description

CareerDuel is an AI-powered career intelligence platform that provides resume analysis, salary insights, negotiation playbooks, job search assistance, and career strategy reports. The Service uses artificial intelligence to process your career data and generate personalised reports and recommendations.

Account registration

You may create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date. CareerDuel reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate or misleading information.

Acceptable use

When using CareerDuel, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Upload content that is fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, or infringes on any third party's rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without prior written consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the reports generated by the Service without permission

Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by CareerDuel and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as your resume). Reports generated by the Service are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the reports for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

AI-generated content disclaimer

The reports, insights, and recommendations provided by CareerDuel are generated by artificial intelligence and are intended for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional career advice, legal advice, financial advice, or any form of professional consultation. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantees about the completeness, reliability, or suitability of AI-generated content. You should exercise your own judgement and consult qualified professionals where appropriate before making career or financial decisions based on our reports.

Paid subscriptions & billing

CareerDuel offers paid subscription plans that provide access to premium features and analysis credits. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the following:

• Payment processing: All payments are processed securely through Razorpay. CareerDuel does not store your payment card details.
• Billing cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) depending on the plan you select.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Refund policy: Used analysis credits are non-refundable. For annual plans, if you cancel within 14 days of purchase and have not used any credits, you may request a full refund. Partial refunds on a prorated basis may be considered at our discretion.
• Plan changes: You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
• Price changes: We may update pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any change affects their next billing cycle.

Privacy & data handling

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your data. In summary: your resume is processed in memory, never written to disk, and permanently deleted once your report is generated. If you use Incognito Mode, your report is stored only in your browser — we keep no copy on our servers.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CareerDuel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to CareerDuel in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CareerDuel and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. CareerDuel reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these terms, is harmful to other users or the Service, or is otherwise objectionable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kochi, Kerala, India.
